This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, working on challenging and exciting projects within infrastructure and construction.

Role

Through continued evolution, our client is looking for a professionally experienced Quantity Surveyor/Cost Management Consultant to join us in a collaborative and exciting environment on a variety of complex and challenging projects in the infrastructure or buildings sectors.

Working very closely with both senior team members and internal multidisciplinary teams on an array of challenging and rewarding projects, gaining new skills and knowledge whilst having the opportunity to work collaboratively with our design specialists. You will be responsible for assessing, understanding, sharing, supporting and ultimately delivering tasks in all aspects of the pre- and post-contract PQS functions while also working as part of the wider Advisory Group providing due diligence and assurance services in capital investment projects and programmes.

Quality is our clients core value and as such you will deliver accurate and robust outputs for clients on highly varied and often challenging projects. Sharing skills is key, the role will require that you impart your knowledge whilst seeking excellence in what we deliver.
Whilst a key part of your role will be working with the team, our projects are varied and require us to be agile and may require you to travel to other offices, client sites and meetings on a national and international basis as required subject to travel restrictions.

Requirements.

Essential skills:

  • It is essential that you possess strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a team approach.
    • Strong analytical skills and a pro-active methodical mind-set are essential for success within this detail-orientated environment.
    •Self-starter, able to plan and responsible for project deliverables within small team, while managing deadlines.
    •Good technical capabilities.
    •Works collaboratively within a team whilst also being able to work independently when required.
    •Ability to see ‘whole picture’ of project requirements.
    •Sets standards and ultimately checks work of the team.
    •Engages with team whilst supporting and developing juniors.
    •High standards of communication, ability to articulate clearly.
    •Demonstrable experience within a consulting environment.
    •MRICS or equivalent is required for a Senior Quantity Surveyor and working towards chartership for a Quantity Surveyor.

Desirable:

  •  Proposes solutions to difficult tasks.
    •    Articulates messages clearly to senior team and clients.
    •    Commercially aware (managing fees).
    •    Initiates and engages with team in broader operational team aspects.
    •    Able to identify future work opportunities.
    •    Wider industry interest and awareness.
