Union Flag returns to Victoria Station following Dyer & Butler and Network Rail collaboration
Dyer & Butler, a multi-disciplined engineering services specialist focused on essential infrastructure including airports, railways and highways, and part of M Group Services, has collaborated with Network Rail to help Jay Patel, Network Rail Station Interface Manager, achieve his aim of seeing the Union Flag flying above London Victoria station once again.
Dyer & Butler Site Agent Matt Pert commented: “We are delighted to have played a part in reinstating a Union Flag at Victoria Station. From our understanding, there hadn’t been a Union Flag at the station for over 25 years. The previous flag was a fixed pole on the station roof which meant that access to run rope through the top was non-existent. It’s only now, following recent works to the front of the station, that we were able to take advantage of a flat access area and use a large MEWP to carry out the fixing of the necessary components overnight. Jay and the Victoria Station team are very happy with the outcome.”
Dyer & Butler is currently undertaking an office refurbishment at London Victoria station that will include the development of a new South East Route Network Rail training centre.
