We are working with one of our market leading clients who are looking to add to their current team with an experienced Signalling Project Manager to oversee an exciting long term project within the Glasgow Area. To succeed in this role we are looking for an individual who has the skills to develop and build a team around them to deliver the project to our client’s standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities of the role

 

The candidate should have an exceptional understanding of project delivery and it is essential that all applicants have experience within the rail industry and have managed re-signalling projects in the UK.

The role offers the opportunity to manage the whole project life cycle and you will have the opportunity to lead the team and use your proven team management and communication skills.

HSQE Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to the Head of Rail for ensuring  operational safety in accordance with company  policies and processes
  • Carry out CDM I Principal Contract duties on authorised contracts where applicable
  • Responsible for monitoringand achieving key measures  in relation to HSQE
  • Performing safety tours in line with company procedure and performance management requirements
  • Ensure accidents and incident are investigated and reported in a timely manner
  • Ensure employees  and contractors  receive training, HSQE Briefs, safety  documentation and PPE relevant  their positions
  • Ensuring that delegated  work is correctly planned, resourced,  executed  in accordance with client specifications, standards, agreed work methodology, relevant legislation,
  • technical, safety and environmental standards
  • Attend internal and external HSQE meetings as appropriate or assign competent deputy
  • Provide an operational report to the Operations Director detailing health & safety issues at the frequency stipulated by the Head of Rail.
  • Ensure the risks and control measures associated with the company’s activities are identified and that management systems are in place to control.

 

 

 

What you will need in order to qualify for this job?

 

This individual needs to come from a signalling background who has had experience in all stages of a project life cycle with delivery being key.

  • Required Microsoft Projects
  • IRSE Engineering Manager
  • SMTH
  • IOSH Managing Safety
  • SMSTS
  • PTS

Desired Qualifications:

  • Chartered or Member of relevant Professional body
  • Relevant Degree or equivalent
  • HND or equivalent
