To deliver clients projects within the approved values of engineering excellence and safety aligned, with the GRIP (or equivalent) standard throughout the project programme. Implementing industry best practice and technical standards at all times as the clients site representative. Manage resources efficiently and effectively to meet budgets and programme targets with pre-defined measurable objectives and timelines. The role has a technical interface with the clients internal engineering functions providing methodical and efficient supervision for site delivery of the client project(s).

Key Responsibilities: Senior Project Engineer on multi discipline signalling control system projects integrated into an established multi-disciplinary team. Provide a site-based technical interface and responsibility for managing the pre-installation programme, including risk & safety limitations and programme compliance. Manage site implementation activities and allocated resource so that compliant and best-practice engineering standards, aligned with the Network Rail Governance for Railway Investment Projects (GRIP) or equivalent standards are achieved including but not exclusively in relation to design, construction and other specialisms required by the programme, company standards, and procedures. At all times to work in accordance with Fenix policies, procedures and practices, representing the company its name, values and standards with clients, sub-contractors and other professional contacts.

Person Specification:

  • A minimum of 15 years post qualification experience in rail signalling engineering with significant experience in fulfilling the role of Project Engineer on complex project delivery
  • Engineering qualification at either; equivalent academic practical standard or significant relevant industry experience
  • Be conversant with all UK railway standards and regulations
  • Be conversant with all signalling works processes and relevant technical demands
  • Be experienced with major works programmes for design and implementation of signalling systems; managing site-works on broad-based signalling projects with proven communication & leadership skills
  • Experience with materials logistics co-ordination and delivery
  • Experience with site survey methods, preparation of reports, briefings and informative documents in an electronic environment
  • Significant experience in signal engineering, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi disciplines
