ROLE

Key responsibilities of the role include but not be limited to:

  • Interpret and understand technical, commercial, and contractual requirements of tender documentation.
  • Produce and submit competitive and accurate tenders.
  • Ensure consistency and coherency of all aspects of bid.
  • Actively pursue alternatives and innovations
  • Effectively communicate and ensure that the operations team fully understand the tender hand-over.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Analyse data to inform and/or challenge solution development.
  • Remain fully conversant with current legislation and company policies.
  • Provide support to operational and mobilisation teams when new contracts go live to ensure correct interpretation of contractual obligations and payment structures.
  • Ensure all opportunities for margin enhancement are identified and pursued.
  • Understanding of the cost drivers that define a project and ability to convert engineering data into meaningful cost drivers.
  • Understanding of all aspects of direct and indirect costs.
  • Pro-actively seek and gain knowledge of competitors.
  • Stay up to date on the latest processes and advancements in the industry.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a broad spectrum of technical knowledge relating to Cost and Commercial Management. Experience of NEC will be extremely beneficial. You will also have the following:

  • Experience on significant Infrastructure projects ideally but not limited to the rail sector.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present cost work concisely.
  • Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
  • Relevant successful experience of provision of estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
  • Proficient use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Well-developed client facing skills with a client orientated approach.
  • Commercially astute
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal, Organisational & Planning Skills
