First headline sponsor announced for Destination Digitalisation

With the bells of New Year still ringing in our ears, Rail Alliance BCRRE is delighted to announce that the first headline sponsor, Opinsta, has confirmed its commitment to Destination Digitalisation as a headline sponsor.

The Rail Alliance in partnership with the Birmingham Centre of Rail Research (BCRRE) are hosting this exciting new event which will focus on the opportunities and challenges for introducing digital technologies to the railway.  Following the success of Destination Decarbonisation in September 2019, Destination Digitalisation will be the second event in this series to take place and will bring the rail industry together with government, public and client bodies, and wider stakeholders, to address the key digital challenges and trends specific to the entire railway eco-system.

Raj Verma, CEO, Opinsta said, “As a Midlands based provider of best-in-class technology to the UK rail sector, we are proud to be a headline sponsor at Destination Digitalisation. Together with Rail Alliance BCRRE, we are proud to share our learnings and support innovation within UK Rail.’

Since their founding in 2014, Opinsta’s range of bespoke solutions have already been successfully implemented into some of the world’s biggest companies including Virgin Trains, First Group, Emirates and Bombardier. Within the rail sector, Opinsta’s platform of solutions have helped businesses run more efficiently by reducing overcrowding, effectively managing carriage occupancy, reducing delays, driving consistency on the frontline and providing instant reporting and resolutions for on-board and station faults.

Digitalisation themes to be explored on the day will include big data, predictive maintenance, digital twins, cybersecurity, 5G, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, intelligent railway infrastructure, autonomous trains, robotics, on-board value added services, signalling and train control and many others. This one day event will incorporate a conference, technical workshops, meet the buyer sessions in addition to an exhibition showcasing technologies and innovations along with practical examples presented in the form of industry case studies.

Destination Digitalisation event takes place on the 26 February 2020 at the Edgbaston Park Hotel at the University of Birmingham. To register for this event as a delegate or for exhibitor or sponsorship enquiries, please go to www.railalliance.co.uk and click on events.
