York Section hybrid meeting

Synopsis: Stephen Tait will share some experiences of implementing computer vision and machine learning for the automated inspection of rail infrastructure. The presentation will consider how this technology has been used to replicate human decisions for basic inspection and consider future applications for detailed and complex inspections. Stephen has worked for Omnicom Balfour Beatty for over 20 years, currently heading up their team of around 50 engineers covering software, hardware and data science disciplines. Many of these involve the application of computer vision on technologies intended for railway infrastructure monitoring.
