Government remains committed to delivering HS2 |
Levelling Up Secretary Michael Gove suggested capital investment for HS2 will be reviewed to ensure that High-Speed rail will be delivered on time and within budget. This budget includes the East Midlands Hub (Toton) that will be built during Phase 2, which will bring a new high-speed line from the West Midlands to the East Midlands, improving travel times and efficiency for those in local communities. Mr. Gove also spoke about how he does think HS2 is a “significant investment” and that “we’re confident at this stage we’ll be within the overall funding envelope”. Join us at TransCityRail Midlands where the delivery of HS2 will be discussed further along, with topics such as Net Zero and hearing from leading figures within the rail industry, such as Tim Shoveller, Managing Director for Network Rail & Karen Heppenstall, Head of Rail for Midlands Connect. |
