RIA Innovation Conference 2021

RIA’s innovation events have built an impressive track record over the last decade; they have become key diary dates for innovators in the UK railway industry, in both the supply chain and in client / government organisations, and offer a mix of information, networking and interaction to make innovation happen. RIA is proud that their Innovation Conference won the Trade Association Forum’s Best Conference Award 2018!

The Innovation Conference provides a unique opportunity for engagement between RIA Members and invited representatives from the wider rail industry, as well as from academia and innovation bodies. Regular participants include Network Rail, London Underground, HS2, DfT, BEIS, ORR, Train Operating Companies, Rail Delivery Group, RSSB, UKTram, UK Rail Research & Innovation Network, Transport Systems Catapult, KTN and InnovateUK. Key speakers from within and beyond the industry address important themes surrounding innovation to provoke and inspire.

This year the RIA Innovation conference will explore the big industry challenges including customer focus, reliability and performance, digitalisation and decarbonisation. The conference will build on RIA’s 2020 theme of ‘Building customer-focused rail, at home and abroad’ and will ask the question about what needs to change to achieve rapid benefits from business-driven innovation.

The conference will have a mix of thought provoking speakers, interactive workshops, more exhibition space than ever, ‘elevator pitches’ for innovators and lots and lots of networking.
