Dyer & Butler support rail safety week 2019 with network rail life saving rules awareness activities
Dyer & Butler, a multi-disciplined engineering services specialist focused on essential infrastructure including airports, railways and highways and a part of M Group Services, has supported Rail Safety Week 2019 by carrying out a refresh of the Network Rail Life Saving Rules.
The Life Saving Rules tackle the ten most common causes of injury and loss of life on the railway, making sure everyone who works on or around the railway gets home safe every day. These include ensuring required plans are in place before starting a job or going on or near a line, and always testing before applying earths or straps when working with electricity.
Dyer & Butler’s operational and safety management team were out in force to engage with employees and contractors working on its maintenance and project worksites and to carry out briefings and inspections focused on the Life Saving Rules. Magnetic Life Saving Rules icons were also distributed to all Controllers of Site Safety (COSS) to serve as visual aids during team briefings.
Dyer & Butler also used Rail Safety Week to continue its fight to eliminate the use of single use plastics by issuing water bottles featuring the Life Saving Rules.
