Campaign to Electrify Britain’s Railway – Birmingham Conference

The Campaign to Electrify Britain’s Railway is holding its first conference on the 29th April 2019. The event will be held at Birmingham University’s Centre for Railway Research and Education Centre. The free to all event hosts a wide range of speakers, including:

Andrew McNaughton – discussing HS2 and mainline railway electrification interfaces.
Julian Worth – CILT Rail Freight Forum and the need for an electric freight network.
David Clarke – RIA and the Electrification Cost Challenge Report.
Jane Austin – Chief Engineer Great Western Electrification.
Richard Stainton – Network Rail – reducing electrification costs through engineering.
Alex Burrows – BCRRE and railway research.
Garry Keenor – Author – Overhead Line Electrification for Railways.
Gareth Dennis – Permanent Rail Engineering – College for High Speed Rail.

The event will keep rail electrification in the spotlight and is of interest to anyone keen to see rail public transport progress. We welcome those from industry, user groups, freight and local government
